Annual Appreciation Dinner and Awards

Last night, the Berkeley Hills volunteers gathered together for their annual appreciation dinner. At the appreciation dinner, annual awards were given. Awards for this year were:

Firefighter of the year: Engine Captain Brain "Guido" Murray
President's award: Rob Bomba
Chief John C. Haschke Leadership Award: Deputy Chief Scott Story

Vehicle Crash

This morning around 1030AM, Ross West View EMS/Rescue, 246 Engine, and 247QRS were alerted to the Blue Wave Car Wash on McKnight Road for an accident with entrapment. 247 Squad arrived with EMS to find 1 patient partially ejected and pinned under the car. 247 Engine was dispatched on a fill for 246 as crews began to stabilize the vehicles. Working under EMS Command, the vehicle was lifted and victim removed just 6 minutes after arriving on the scene. EMS transported to a local trauma center, and 247 Engine remained until the vehicle was removed.

Sangree Vehicle Crash

This afternoon, 247QRS was alerted to Sangree Road for an accident with injuries. The Engine arrived to find 1 car into a tree with moderate damage and no injuries. Crews provided traffic control until the roadway was cleared.

CPR and First Aid Classes for 2010

Berkeley Hills Fire Company announces its schedule of CPR and First Aid Classes for 2010. Classes are held at the Berkeley Hills Fire Company station at 235 Siebert Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

CPR classes are held from 9am to noon and First Aid from noon to 3pm on class days. Upcoming class dates can be found on the Public Training page.
