247 Engine provides suppression coverage to the Berkeley Hills Fire District. The Engine is the primary unit for most in district fire calls and vehicle crashes, and is QRS Certified by the PA Department of Health. It also responds to other districts in the Township and surrounding municipalities as well.
Specifications and Equipment:
247 Engine has a 1500 gpm pump and carries 500 gallons of water. It carries a 24’ extension ladder, 14’ roof ladder, 10’ attic ladder, and operations level vehicle rescue equipment including a reciprocating saw, air chisel, cribbing, and rescue jacks.
247 Engine has the following hose loads:
- 150′ 1.75″ front bumper line
- (2) 200′ 1.75″ crosslays
- 300′ 2.5″ crosslay
- 250′ 1.75″ rear preconnect
- 400′ 1.75″ rear preconnect
- 1,000′ of 3″ supply line, set up for forward or reverse lay
- 1200′ of 5″ supply line
- 25′ 5″ pony section
- Front intake with 35′ of 5″ preconnected
- Rear intake with 50′ of 5″ preconnected
