247 Squad is QRS Certified by the PA Department of Health. Along with being the primary QRS vehicle in our station, it also is used to transport extra personnel to fire scenes and to take our members to classes. 247 Command is rotated between the Line Officers to ensure a Duty Chief is available to respond to incidents and manage day-to-day operations. It provides the Duty Chief with communication equipment to ensure safe, effective, and efficient Incident Command operations. 247 Command is also QRS Certified, and can respond to medical calls as needed. The two Tahoes are rotated between being designated as 247 Squad and 247 Command.

Specifications and Equipment:

247 Squad and 247 Command carry a near-identical equipment cache. Each carries QRS level medical equipment including oxygen, an AED, portable suction, folding backboard, “Stop The Bleed” kits, board splints, a KED, and an MCI kit. Additionally, they each carry 2 SCBAs, hand tools, a 2.5 gallon water can, life jackets, water rescue throw bags, and a small amount of cribbing and vehicle rescue tools.
